Agents

Build an Agent with AI

Create an Agent through a guided Web conversation.

Overview

Agent Builder is a Web-only workflow for describing an Agent conversationally. Select a Runtime, refine the generated configuration, and create a normal workspace Agent when the review is complete.

Only Runtime is selected in the setup step. Model selection remains owned by the Runtime and is not exposed by Builder.

Unfinished builds are saved as drafts and can be reopened from the Agent Builder start page. Builder conversations are private to their creator and do not appear in ordinary Chat or Agent lists.

The selected Runtime stays attached to the unfinished build when it is reopened. Builder uses the same message composer as Chat, and the send action becomes a stop action while the Runtime is processing a response.

Drafts and configuration

Changes to the configuration are saved automatically after a short delay. Reopening an unfinished build restores its latest saved name, description, instructions, Runtime, concurrency, and timeout settings.

The Builder conversation can also return a configuration draft. Those suggestions appear in the configuration panel immediately and remain editable before creation.

Execution records

Builder uses the shared Chat execution experience. While a response is running, the conversation shows its progress and provides a stop action. Messages that originate from an Agent task show the same task timeline and run-record details as Chat.

Use the task-record icon in the Builder header to open all execution records for the current build. Builder conversations remain visible only to the member who created the unfinished build.

Finish or discard

Select Create and open after the required name and Runtime are set. Builder converts its temporary execution Agent into the normal workspace Agent, preserving the same Agent ID, usage, and task records, then opens that Agent's detail page. The Builder conversation is archived and no longer appears in active chat or Builder lists.

Builder applies the fields available in its configuration panel: name, description, instructions, Runtime, visibility, concurrency, timeout, and skills. You can add runtime-only configuration such as environment variables, MCP servers, and startup parameters from the Agent detail page afterwards.

Select Discard to cancel any active Builder run and remove the unfinished conversation, draft, temporary execution Agent, and its dependent task records. This does not affect existing Agents.
